Diane Bolhagen McBride
Now a California artist, McBride fell in love with printmaking while getting her master's degree from the University of NY at Stony Brook. She earned her BA in Fine Art at Long Island University and studied at the Art Students League in NY. From the Pratt Graphics Manhattan Center she studied color intaglio techniques, and studied with Ruth Leaf at the Ruth Leaf Studio in Douglaston, NY.
Her work is inspired by nature and what is lurking above and below the surface of the earth. In a 2013 conversation with McBride about Drury's print "Collections", she said "the title refers to the tidal movements of individuals and species over layers of time. The birds in flight along the top layer are inspired by Sandhill Cranes."
