Lizzie Amagoalik was born in 1953 in Inukjuak, Quebec and is a resident of Sanikilauq, a village with 800 residents. She has been carving soapstone from Qullisajanniavik, Tukajak Island, since she was sixteen. She specializes in seals, walrus, and beluga whales.
