Description
This is a contemporary sculpture that was likely made by a Senufo artist. The figure has a tapering face and elongated limbs similar to those found on traditional Senufo sculptures, and Senufo sculptures likewise may be adorned with earring and scarification markings of this type. Nevertheless, the headdress and the elongated pipe are not typically Senufo. These features likely illustrate influences From other African cultures, influences from Western cultures, and the artist's own personal stylistic choices.
