This collaborative and community-based project for the town of Mansfield, Missouri is inspired by Mansfield’s most famous citizen, writer Laura Ingalls Wilder, envisioning a new district focused on generating and sustaining creativity as a basis for community development. Problems of disinvestment and difficulties in retaining young citizens are addressed through community-development and education centers, as well as through new recreational spaces. The historic cemetery that is home to Wilder’s gravesite connects the new district and future development to the town's long history and traditions.
